Scholarship Opportunities

GLAC is dedicated to contributing to the advancement and empowerment of our youth. We promote academic excellence and support the development and growth of young adult women and men in our communities.

 

Since 1982 GLAC is pleased to have awarded over $50,000 in scholarships to deserving college students through our local Club in addition to thousands of dollars awarded through our District and National Association.

  • GLAC Scholarship:  
    For graduating seniors in the Lansing Area who have a grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Other criteria is included in the online application. Contact the GLAC scholarship chairperson or email glacscholarships@gmail.com for additional information.

  • Eaton Family Scholarship:
    Any graduating senior wishing to apply for the Lela M. Eaton Scholarship should email Pamela Eaton-Champion at mspamfrog@yahoo.com to request information regarding scholarship criteria.
     

  • Ezell-Brown-Nixon Legacy Scholarship:
    Each year a stipend is given to each of the Youth on the Move Award recipients at the GLAC Founders’ Day Brunch.
     

  • James Coleman Sr. Legacy and North Central District Scholarship:
    The North Central District of The National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Clubs, Inc., has a special commitment to help youth pursue and realize their formal college education and career goals.  The scholarship is restricted to a graduating high school student living in the North Central District (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin) and will attend college in the Fall.  Requirements June graduate – 2.5 GPA or above on a 4.0 scale, must enroll in an accredited college/university by Fall of the year of high school graduation.

  • NANBPWC National Scholarship:  
    For African American graduating seniors with a grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale. Filing period January 15 to April 15 in the year of graduation.
